Got it it turned out to be the slave cylinder the jam nut came lose and it was sitting back way to far. thanks everyone

FikseRxSeven 02-28-2006 12:43 AM

what do you mean the jam nut? the piston in the rubber thing?

FUSEDM 02-28-2006 01:41 AM

yeah, if you take out the piston the rounded portion on the top is heald in place by a nut under it called a jam nut, driving beautifully like a new car.

I ahve the same problem with my 89. the clutch is engaging about a 1/4 inch from floor. Do you think that my issue is like yours and if so should i replace the slave cylinder?

I just got the car yesterday and don't know much about RX7's yet.
