All,

OK, so I was trying to measure the temp at the catalytic converter and sheared off 3 of the 4 10mm bolts holding the silly thing on.

Question is... What is the downside to running the FD without the catalytic converter heat shield??

Going to see if the beast will pass MD emissions this week (Failed in December).

Thanks,

Mark

well it might suck in the summer, but the passenger will have a nice bun warmer in the winter. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Clarification, the missing shield is the one that sits under the catalytic converter, between it and the road. My assumption is that I need to watch out that I don't park over anything combustable (Duh), but otherwise I could be OK.

Thanks,

Mark

oh then you will be fine. i mean i guess to play it safe dont park over any gas leaks, or sticks of tnt. that MIGHT be a problem https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png
