I have a dilema. I'm trying to decide which bodykit to get. Ive always planned on getting the Mazdaspeed GTC bumper and sideskirts with a '99 spec rear spoiler, when I got my fd, I saw one in a mag and fell in love with the kit. Lately though, I've been starting to like the '99 spec bumper and Feed sideskirts with '99 spec rear bumper. I guess I'm just wondering what other people think of each of these setups. Oh, my car will be CYM.

I would have to agree with the 99 kit with the feed skirts. Thats basically all I want do to with mine, plus probably the RE Amemiya diffuser that DUB has. Any kits that take away from the original lines too much (Cwest) I don't particularly like.

if its gonna be CYM get the gtc kit. CYM + 99 spec anything, no good...lol

Side skirts are gay. The mazdaspeed nose is nice though. I don't care for wings either. Ulimately it's obviously a personal preference.
|
FEED-II front bumper, CF side skirts, and FEED spoiler for me.
|
I've heard that you can't jack the car up from the side with the Feed sideskirts, does anone know if this is true with the Mazdaspeed ones too?
|
i'm not a big fan of sideskirts either.
I like the GT-C nose alot, which is why i kept it after the mishap. I don't like wings either (ironic huh?) Are you going for a clean, subtle look or a really aggressive look? I don't like the 99 wing myself, looks too much like it came from auto-zone. I guess i've seen too many cheap copies on ricer cars around where i lived. The 96 wing is very subtle and nice looking IMO. It all boils down to what *YOU* want however. |
Agreed the 96-98 whale tail spoiler is pretty cool. Its a subtle improvement over the R1 wing IMO.
|
I like the 99 spec look as well. I will eventually get the front bumper but right now I just have the 99 spec lip on the 93-95 bumper, FEED CF sideskirts (one of the only good looking sideskirts), and a RB Type II wing (looks like 99 spec wing).
|
i dont like the 99 spec wing either, it only looks good with a stock 99 spec body imo. with the gtc bumper id go with a cf gt type wing.
|
you can use a jack with the CF sideskirts....

I've heard that you can't jack the car up from the side with the Feed sideskirts, does anone know if this is true with the Mazdaspeed ones too? my car is lowered and i have the feed side skirts and i wish i can tell you how many times i've jacked the car up...... too many times for me to count and i agree with the 96-98 wing if you want something a little subtle. i would like the 99 spec wing if it wasnt so common and if all the other kinds of cars didnt have an almost identical replica |
Yeah was just about to say, Sinfuls old car has the FEED CF side skirts, I know he always had it jacked up for this or that.

I suppose you choice on body kit depends on what look you will be going for. The MS GTC kit is very functional, and definitely gives the racecar feel. The kit does look bad ass but, is not the most aesthetically pleasing one out there.
If you are going for clean, understated look the 99spec bumper and Feed sidekirts is perfect. Another one option is Re Amemiya N1 kit. The lines are very clean and if you didn’t know it was aftermarket, it would almost appear factory. |
