I have no heat in my RX7. I know that there is no air bubbles in my coolant system, the thermostat is new, & I just checked to make sure that the temp control was in fact actuating the door (valve) down on the heater. The blower blows absolutely fine, I just can't get warm air!?? Anyone have any other suggestions?

heater plugged? if theres water in the heater, and the door works, its pretty much gotta blow heat?

I am thinking that my heater core is clogged. Upon further inspection I found the the core is beginning to leak & I think that I will be replacing that in the future here.....yay! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Yea thanks, I am gonna try that & see if I can unclog it, but at some point I am going to have to replace it, because I know it is leaking - small right now. I am gonna try to unclog it & limp it through the rest of the winter.

I had a Pontiac like that once, then one day it totally went, windshield fogged right up, coolant dumped on the floor....... real f'ing mess.

I had to change it outside when it was like 20 degrees because it was my daily.

Taught me to take care of these things when its convenient https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

The nice thing with the RX7 is that it isn't my daily driver, so I don't NEED to be driving the car! That doesn't mean that I don't WANT to be driving it though. I will get the heater core and then rip into it as soon as I can.

ouch, FD01-61-A10 CORE, HEATER 263.45 405.75 0.00

FikseRxSeven 02-13-2007 11:07 AM

the way my fd blows heat, i never even gave it much thought that it could break.

then again, i can drive the car with no heat blowing and the inside of the car will still be burning after 20 minutes.

teknics 02-13-2007 02:23 PM

just get a non-oem heater core. itll be fine and probably half the price, theyre warrantied anywho.

only easy one ive ever done was a 97 gmc pickup, like 5 screws and remove the access panel, then wham there it is. other then that they suck.

if it starts dumping out just loop the lines in the engine bay together until its convenient to fix, no harm no foul.

I was thinking about looping it together for now. It isn't the fact that I have no heat that totally bothers me - I am plenty warm in it, it is the fact that I am unable to defog the windshield - which is SLIGHTLY important!

Rob x-7 02-13-2007 05:33 PM

a good radiator shop can fix it too if aftermarket is expensive

teknics 02-13-2007 05:35 PM

bah seeing isnt important

as long as you can shift mad fast yo!

That isn't a bad idea.....I hadn't even thought of that. I tried calling the local Auto Zone here and they said that the core is not available.....so I guess it is thru Mazda or have it fixed. I may do that. Thanks!

Rob x-7 02-13-2007 06:40 PM

I have looped a heater core or two in my days- sometimes you have to do what you got to do
