Here is an A/C question for those in the know.
The setting: hot, humid New Orleans, LA heat; a/c condensor that is behind a fmic, and an a/c compressor that has a short squeak every time the a/c is turned on. What it is doing: the a/c comes on and blows cold, and gets colder when the recirculate button is turned on, but after some city, stop and go driving, or sitting in traffic, the cold air turns a little warmer, and a little more humid, making the interior rather uncomfortable. What is going on? Thanks, |
Do you have a fan on the condensor?
no, it is in between my fmic, and radiator.
i am about to take it for a run, and monitor the a/c and water temp while I am only on the interstate, and not in stop and go traffic,
where would I mount a fan?
I'm not sure on a 3rd gen...on my TII it came with one. Is there any space either between the FMIC and the condensor or between the condensor and the radiator?
the reason for your problem is insufficient cooling of the freon in the condenser. cold fron is a gas, as it heats up it turns to liquid which the condenser cools down back to gas. you can eiher add a small fan on the condenser or seal up all the places where air can pass around the condenser instead of going through it.
