any rotor recommendations? i was thinking about going stock sizes. i just want to be able to stop when i'm hi-cruising 5th.



i got new front & rear Axxis pads, so i'm looking for input on quality of oem sized rotors



when would u 'need' big brake kits?... seems excessive to me. same goes for cross/drilled. what about reinforced steel braided lines? or should i go for the lower maintenance stock rubber lines?



if $ wasn't an issue fine... but i'm trying to keep my brake set up costs to 4-500

Unless your racing on a track big brakes are over kill IMO.

Dont bigger brake rotors bump you up a couple classes in SCCA?

I've had a lot of experience with brakes on various street and race cars.



For a street car the stock factory rotors are fine. "Slotted" and "Drilled" rotors are basically a waste of money.



Just make sure you have a good brake pad. That makes the biggest difference.



For racing try a race spec brake pad with the factory rotors. If that's not sufficient then try an upgraded brake system with larger rotors.

As for the SS braided brake lines........IMO i think that is a good up grade for any car, track or street.

This because they not only stop the line flexing that reg rubber does, which gives you better braking, but are also a saftey feature.

After time your rubber ones will deteriorate and could cause problems. The SS ones wont.

I think that and better pads is all you really need for the street.

I agree- The ss lines are a nice improvement and with some good brake pads you should be fine. Keep in mind that your rotors are already 11.6 inches in diameter. Unless you road race- you should not need bigger brakes. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

all of those suggestions are good in my book. especially the SS lines. they are great for pressure holding and NOT wearing out as quickly as the oem lines.....you cant go wrong with slotted or drilled rotors. i use power stop rotors and hawk hp+ pads all around on my car......you cant go wrong with them....

I remember reading somewhere that basicly big brakes are unneed unless you do road race. They dont start to be more effective than normal brakes until they are under heavy use and heat starts to become an issue, which it does after heavy use. Thats just what I have heard. So baicly what I gatherd from the literature is unless you do much autoxing, you dont need bigger brekes unless your going for the look. I belive it said that the drilled/sloted ones are more than enough in most cases.
