I am cutting it short ....

I have bought a Type R1 94 Model JDM spec Rx-7 ..... The car is doing some wierd things after a couple of hours of driving :

The problem goes like this : hope you get it clear :

i have installed a boost gauge to see the boost pattern .... my car when i pedal it goes to 10 Psi ... then as soon as the engine revs above 4000 Rpm the boost gauge shows a drop of boost to 0-2 Psi only .... and this happens everytime i give a boost .... but the thing which confuses me the most is that when my car is standing in my garage all nite and the next day when i start it and gets it on the road it gives a perfect 12 Psi boost all the way and tails out excellently ..... but as soon as i give 1-2 boosts .... then the same thing happens .... it does not revs and the turbos drop pressure and the gauge shows only 1-2 Psi when i pedaling it to the floor ... i am very confused .... please help me with this i am new to all this and i dont how to go about it ..... please keep in mind my car as soon as i pedal it goes to 10 Psi and then drops back to 0-2 Psi varying everytime ... and this happens all the way till i am pedaling it .... it seems like the turbos are not givign any boost and the car is running only engine power and no boost ...

please help me ... and let me know what can be wrong so i can make a check list and trouble shoot it !

thanks in advance !!

the c clip fell off your TCA turbo control actuator rod. its on the bottom of the car on the passenger side. its literally a 5 min fix. i fixed my friends a while ago with a paperclip which eventually broke later lol

That makes no sense, because if the clip fell off, it wouldn't boost at all on the second turbo. He said it boosts fine a few times and then doesn't. Sounds like heat is causing some component of the turbo control system to act up. Maybe a solnoid or a hose.

It's probably that TCA solenoid that is bolted on the lower intake manifold. It's the easiest one to change, but you have to take the menifold off.

i second that solenoid... notorious for screwin up under lots of heat.

but the thing is that it runs 1 or 2 boosts and completely fails to attain good boost after 4000 Rpm .... please keep these msgs comin cuz i am checking everything ... incase i miss anything out ... i would love your help ppl ... problem is where i live ... rx-7 is not a common car and people does not know much about rotor engine and all and does not know much how to tune it so i have to be there to guide them all the way ....

also please let me know what can be the problem when my car is not boosting i can hear boost sound comin but no responsive on accelaration and all

thanks in advance

The intermitant problem suggests that it is not the c clip off the turbo control actuator rod.

Since your not getting any thing after 4500rpm your getting non ofthe secondary boost.

That is when your secondary turbo comes inline (4500RPM)

Sounds to me it would be something more along the lines of a sticking precontrol actuator rod.

A malufuctioning solinoid, maybe the charge control valve, or a stikcing rod on the Turbo control actuator rod.

I would check all the related componets.

Red lines are under pressure during prespool.
