Hi All
I read the 3rd Gen FAQ's and did a search for my problem but did not find what I was looking for. I have a Japanese 1993. Not sure which model but it has the twin oil coolers. I think the car is standard apart form a modified air intake. It has a M's intake system with twin pod filters. Doing the boost test in 3rd gear used to get 10-8-10 however now its changed. Boosting below 4500rpm I get 10psi but once I go over 4500rpm it goes all the way to 15psi which if your under load for more than a couple of seconds results in leaning off ( a/f meter ) and fuel cut. Any ideas please. Thanks in advance. puppetman. |
Assuming stock downpipe is still in place , the problem occurs when second turbo is in use so maybe one of the lines to the secondary wastegate actuator has perished or blown off causing overboost . Or the secondary boost control solinoid has failed and needs replacing. The primary wastegate controls are still working but the primary wastegate alone is not enough when the second turbo comes online.

Those are all good places to look. Could be the line from the turbo to the wastegate actuator has a crack in it or blownoff.

Hey thanks guys. I'm going to take a look at those things you have mentioned in the next couple of days.
Will let you know what I find, if anything. Thanks again puppetman. |
