My boost is acting up. The turbo's were rebuilt about 8k miles ago, motor rebuilt 2600 miles ago, all the hoses were changed out for silicon, all tie/wrapped when engine was rebuilt.



Problem: Primary turbo spools just fine all the way to 11psi. at 4500 (when secondary should kick) It only spools to 5psi sometimes. Other times is spools to 11-12psi. But its starting to do 5psi more often now. Could this be the seq. flap gettin stuck? or would this be a vaccum line problem?? Would switiching to Non-Seq. fix this? I plan on doing it anyhow, but i wanna know if i should do it now, or if there is a way to fix this for the mean time. TIA for any help!

Could be a sticky actuator. Could be a solenoid with a bad connection (or a short in a solenoid wire). Could be a hose that gets kinked only sometimes (silicone hoses can be more prone to kinking than the stock rubber ones). It's hard to be any more specific than that. If you really want to figure out what it is, get a vacuum pump and go here for lots of good info on troubleshooting the sequential system:

laracer is right, if you are having trouble with the transition, it might be the TCA, or it could be a boost leak......maybe the y pipe coupler....start marking off potential culprits and go from there...

I had a similar problem- just turned out to be a vacuum hose kink. Check those first.
