Any options or suggestions for replacement oil metering pump lines? I was trying to torque down the fitting and broke the plastic on the front line. I guess 75k miles worth of heat was enough to make them a little too brittle. I'm considering picking up some flexible line, and route it as close to the other as possible, or just replacing it with another stock. Any other suggestions, short of blocking off the OMP and running premix?

There are different points of view on the subject, but personally I kept my OMP and actually do a little pre-mix along with it. If your interested in the "why" of that I will explain, but it might get us a little off-topic.

There are a vendors who offer stainless OMP lines. A bit of a PITA to route, especially with the engine in the car, but I like mine. And with new copper crush washers you'll never have to worry about them again. IIRC most run about $100 shipped. "rx7store .net" has them but there are others.



If your handy and prefer making things yourself (I'm not in this category), I think I could find a link (from another forum) explaining how to order up your own teflon lines from McMaster-Carr for much less and use the OEM banjo fittings. Durable once in place, but not quite as indestructible. And they'd probably be a little easier to route...but still require removal of some stuff. I'd want the OK from the mod before posting the link though.

Thankfully routing won't be the trouble. Engine is already out. As much as I hate to go there, I'll probably go search the "other"...

In case anyone finds this and wants to know what I ended up using, I bought 5 feet of BrakeQuip BQ303 brake line (http://www.brakequip.com/steel.html) from American Hose & Fittings http://www.americanhose.com/inventory/index.php and am putting together my own lines.



The front line is 24", and would recommend buying 24.5" of line for this one, rear is 31", and 31.5" should be the right length to account for the bends. I ended up buying the lines a little longer, and will be trimming down.



The crimps that I bought are listed as 0507 - 10100004, and I don't have any better model / part information than that. I'm reusing the banjo fittings from the stock lines.

Sounds like you've got it handled then. I'd still be getting the new copper crush washers at all ends. And if you've removed the OMP, consider getting a new 'O' ring.

Thankfully all those were in the seal kit already. Unfortunately I over torqued one of the banjo bolts at the OMP, so I'll be stopping at Tacoma Screw tomorrow to pick up a replacement.
