So,the question is (opinions and experience)who make the best and most supported stand alone?Pfc seems to be the most common,I'm more familiar with ,and appreciate, the aem units but am open to suggestions.Haltech intrigues me(the aussies are baddd)so tell me what you think.

I'm asking before I buy so I won't do it twice.

PFC or haltech are the winners. pfc is the easiest because it's basically plug and play. I've run the pfc for 4 years and love it

I had a pfs purple box for a long time. That worked well. Then i had a pfc briefly which seemed fine. I am with AEM now and it's great so far. It's a vast improvement from the PFC w/ a dataloggit.

i'd definately say PFC.. (w/ dataloggit) mainly for simplicty. Haltech requires a full engine rewire, unless you splice into the factory harness.... not sure how well that works though.

i dont have any experience with any but i will be buying a pfc with datalogit just becasue of its plug and paly and how simple i hear it is to use...but if you want to spend the big bucks i hear that the TEC3 is an amazing ecu...of course for a full setup at around $2000-$3000 i would hope you get what you pay for

FikseRxSeven 04-11-2005 06:56 PM

unless you're tuning... you dont need a datalogit

but yeah.. i would go with the ecu that whoever is tuning your car is most familiar with

rotary_pwr 04-11-2005 09:05 PM

err i got no experience myself https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif but what about the Apexi power FC???

how is that working for you ? How was the install and stuff ? I didnt think there was many shops in this area that would tune them

tcb100 04-15-2005 09:52 AM

Ray Wilson at PFS tunes 'em.
