ok so im reassembling this fd, when i bought it the engine bay was a wreck, ive cleaned out most if it, got a brand new motor in there but everything else is still discombobbulated. hell even the alternator was destroyed beyond any chance of working.

so i managed to find the alternator adjuster bracket after days of looking. and now i need some help.

I know the one bottom hole bolts into the bolt in the waterpump cover...right? (the only non-stud holding in the water pump housing)

now... there's a loose stud pointing to the driver's side just sort of hanging there...what does that bolt too? I dont have the P/S or the A/C on, and i don't have their big bracket on the motor either. I'm guessing it somehow bolts to that bracket, but im not positive as i didnt have the bracket by the car to check it out.

pics would be great, but any info would suffice. look forward to more of these posts about the wiring harness lol.

speaking of the harness, can i get an fd alternator connector plug somewhere or should i try to reuse the one on there? I have a spare engine harness but of course the alternator connector is on the other harness.

This probably won't help much, but it's the only pic I have on hand that comes close and the car is at my shop right now.

FWIW:

I just bolted mine all back together and put the engine back in the car yesterday. I can confirm that the 12mm stud you speak of does indeed hold on that large PS/AC bracket to the side of the engine. You can ignore that stud since you don't plan on powersteering or a/c.

alright i figured as much.

car's very near complete now, ripped out the old harness since my new one is now finished, just gotta solder on the resistors and injector clips, once i figure out which side gets the resistors lol.

sooooo close. im guessing mid-april startup (i dont get too much actual "work on it" time)
