the thing engages like crazy...there is only 2 options engaged or disengaged....ther is no slipping this clutch......traffice is going to suck. i chirp third now without even trying. vosko you think this is OKAY for daily driving???? from a 4 puck i guess it might be.

JadedX 07-09-2003 10:35 PM

i'm not vosko but it might tear up the rear alot.

i new a guy in a black fc and his **** grabbed like crazey

rear end was allways breaking

I street drove mine when I had the 6 puck... and you think thats a clutch.. you should try a twin plate, now that GRABS..

j9fd3s 07-10-2003 10:45 AM

yeah the twin plates are nuts, that being said i dont like the iron cross on the street either, its too hardcore for me

mine engages almost like stock now because i put in an upgraded clutch slave. i have an extra one if anyone wants it

Mazdabation 07-10-2003 12:41 PM

Out of curriousity, how does this clutch compare to the Center Force Dual Friction? Thats what I used to have in my Tll and though it was pretty good on the streets. Just looking to see my options for when I upgrade the FD.

Silver Ninety Three 07-10-2003 04:21 PM

The centerforce doesn't last very long on high powered rx-7's. Instead of the non-spung act 6 puck, I used a racing beat sprung 6 puck disk with the extreme pressure plate. It still takes a while to get used to, but it can be slipped. A better option for the street might be a street/strip disk with an extreme pressure plate.

yeah i've only driven my car twice since it's been in, but i am getting used to it. a massive difference from a completely worn stock clutch. i'm sure i'll get a little smoother. the only problem is first gear, not matter how slow it will either shudder or chirp.

Mazdabation 07-10-2003 11:27 PM

So a clutch between wraiths ACT 6 puck and my Center Force dual friction would be?? I dont want it grabbing so much that first chirps all the time but even stronger then the Center Force would be nice.........

Ok so what happens when your a boulivarde (sp) cruiser, but like to drag also, not in competitions or anything, just street and open to the public drag strip days?

vosko 07-11-2003 10:19 PM

depends how much power you are making and how much you abuse the clutch. i abuse mine alot and turbovr6 does not. so the street disk is fine for him. its all about your driving style

Mazdabation 07-11-2003 10:31 PM

With the couple of post i made it kinda sums up my driving style. I had the Dual friction so i like a good grab. I love to cruise and enjoy the night but also visit the track for open drag days. So at this point with the track or with spirited driving on the street i need something that will hold up. I am not in need of a clutch as of now but will be at some point, so I am looking at my choices.

vosko 07-11-2003 11:09 PM

i'd say go for the street first and if you kill the disk just buy a 6 puck disk later. they are pretty cheap
