Hi all.

I thought it better to post in the 3rd gen section because some of you guy and gals might know what I'm on about. Anyway I'm putting S8 front brakes and S5 (FC3S) rear brakes on my Gen 1. I've also fitted a 2000 model brake booster and master cylinder on my gen 1. What I need to know is what do you do with the master when the ABS is removed? There is only 2 ports on the master so connection to the brakes in a non-ABS fashion is difficult. The master needs to have a 3rd port. I know the rear brakes are always tee'd off the single rear port, but can I do the same to the front brakes? It would seem a simple thing to just add a tee and run either side off to each front brake calliper.

Simple or no? What do you guys do when ABS is removed? Is there a non-ABS master for FD3S?

Thanks

Chris.

When I pulled the leaky ABS pump from my S4 T2, I replaced the master cylinder with a parts store rebuilt non-ABS master along with lines pulled from a non-ABS car. Everything went together fine and it works great. Not exactly an answer to your question, but I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

um mazda uses a Y fitting in this situation. its listed for a 93-95 929.

or you can use earls fittings

for the master cylinder, you should just go ahead and get the 929 master, its a 1" bore vs the 13/16ths stock fd one, better pedal feel....

Thanks for the info. I have a "T" piece to split the line for front left and right hand side. I'm told that some models over here in Australia do that too. I'm not sure that getting hold of a 93 - 95 929 master will be particularly easy over here. Are they a direct swap for the FD master? I'll keep that in mind if the pedal is soft.

Thanks again,

Chris.

yeah a T would work too.

the 929 master swaps right over. i have no idea if you guys even got that one over there, its a big ugly boat....

eBay has a master listed. I'm just a bit nervous about spending a couple of hundred on a master that's wrong and I cant just take it back. I'll try locally but just my luck the masters won't be 1" bore like the US ones. Thanks again.
