First, sorry for being such a F.N.G. with a million stupid questions. Thanks so much for your help so far! This forum is great.
I wish to disengage my smog pump and EGR system. However, I have a few questions: 1) Can this be done so that it's easily when I need a smog. (Ummm I mean when I'm not on the track...hehehe) 2) Will it possibly damage the car? 3) What is the best way to do this? Thanks, John Magnuson |
best imho is complete removal for hp gains...
i dont see any real advantage from just unplugging the air pump.. if your concerned...id retain it and use a hiflo maincat... |
unplugging the air pump wont get any more gain than leaving it alone, neither the airpump or the egr work at full throttle

the main reason to remove the airpump is to clean up the engine bay. It makes it much easier to work on the car. If you have a catalytic converter, you must keep it, though.

I've been thinking about disabling the EGR system in my FD. Triple R has a good write up on the topic.
