I drive the FD every day to work during the week so I can't afford to have it down for long. I was thinking of buying another engine to swap out the one I hvae in it. I am worried that it not going to be reliable anyore. I was wondering what prices you guys have seen for a stock replacement.

I was going to maybe buy one to rebuild from a shop I know ofthat could hook me up for $500. Obviously I would get new apex seals and the rebuild kit. Then swap the engines out after I rebuild the one I buy.

i don't know about rebuilding one but a recent quote from Malloy Mazda for a reman was about $2,300...1,900 for the stock reman and the rest of the cost was for a basic gasket set and shipping reman to you/shipping core from you.

500? interesting.......

Yea... 500 is a bit on the cheap side. If all the parts are actually new and legit, I would be very worried about their work.

The engines for $500 are for sale as they are, not rebuilt. I was gonna buy one to rebuild it my self. That would be great if they had them that cheap for a rebuilt with new seal and gaskets.

I think I am going to buy one to start working on it. I haven't toally decided yet.

thats a good deal as long as the rotors and houseings havent taken any damage from apex seals if its blown

go for it
