found on either f175 or f189 on the shop manual..

someone help me understand what thats for...

yeah I remember reading about that in the manual. I believe it has something to do with the ECU and emissions system. It's a one time deal. At the pre-determined milage the switch either opens or closes for good. There are a few carmakers that have a similar system, allthough none of their manuals actually explain their purpose either

some have indicated that its the break-in safe mode switch..

where the ecu will run rich up until 20k then switch to optimum a/f for more hp..

i cant find it anywhere in the manual that will substantiate this claim..

yeah thats what ive heard. we do know that the switch turns on part of the acv, i have no idea why
