black box?

AgentSpeed 01-20-2005 10:12 AM

I think it had some kind of inclosed rats nest or something...

yes, the "black box" does away with the "rats nest" all the soleniods are inclosed into one big box under the upper intake manifold.doing away with all the vacuum lines running everywhere under the manifold. i just need a diagram of where, "what little vacuum lines are left" go, and what the conect too. im kinda lost here....

that parts the same as any other fd. fuel pressure reg needs to see vacuum and boost, map sensor stays where it is.

I don't believe it's documented anywhere, and I don't know of anyone that's actually DONE the conversion. It's not even known if it will work with the '93-95 ECU.

BTW, they changed to the "black box" in '96. Sucks that we didn't get the first round of improvements they made - '96 was also when they started using the Efini Y-pipe, and I believe the computer was upgraded.

This has been discussed at the RX7Club, out 8bit ECU's are not compatiable with it.

they switched to the box in 99. the actual functions of everything is the same, its just that the 99 ecu and harness are way different. if you had all the parts and some time you could make it work, but why?
