Very cool web site, i will be looking forward to this place in the future because im going to be stationed in Japan soon, (going to the Navy in a week) and i want to bring back a car from japan like a Evo 4 (ever since i saw "Jackie Chan's Who am I" i wanted one)or Toyota Trueno (AE86). I was thinking R32 GT-R but it might be a little to much because i might be buying a FD in the states. |
More pics of the whole car please. Very nice. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Adam (the owner) has had another spirit R in the US before beautiful car, still had the plastic on the seats , windows and floor boards. as far as importing an ae86 the cost is to much man it just not worth it for the same price you could buy a hachi here and do alot of **** to it, r32 gtr's arent as expensive as you would think aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand if youre in texas and need help you can contact me =D woooo

It's the legalizing issue im concerned with. If it's way to much i know ways around the legal thing (my own way), depending on the car of course. Thanks for offering the help you were talking about. |
send an email to them im sure they could talk to you about maybe helping you out with legalization but would most likely want to do the importing themselves as the legalization is part of the process
|
ok, thanks
|
that has the same R as the RX8
|
Don't start that R thing over here. hehe

You are very, very, VERY misinformed about importing thru the Navy. Did you know you need a STATESIDE title to bring a car back from Japan to the United States or else the Navy will not ship it? This is a new millenium....they used to allow shipment of cars w/o titles back about 5 to 10 years ago but not anymore. |

I was under the impression the newest car you could import from Japan and register to drive was a 92 or around that year. Was I misinformed?? I might have to import a latter model FD than my 94 in the future.

I stated that the NAVY(and Air Force, Marine Corps, Army) will NOT ship for free without an American Title and the Car placed on your orders. Besides...I live in Japan and have seen a few Spirit R's running around here. They look like any other FD...just newer looking in person. |

What part of the military are you in, because i know there's a lot of military bases in Okinawa. Do you have any cool stories and where have you vacation around Japan. |
Thats if you are even in the military are you? I also forgot when it's morning over here it's night time over there. So you'll maby see this some time at night.
|
jspec lives in okinawa due to the military. however im not sure if he still is military or not, since there are about 10 guys that live in that area for the same reason, and some have or are about to leave the military.

looks great man

We have had SEVERAL guys attempt to bring their cars back as a whole. I have had a few friends (Navy/Air Force) attempt as well. Trust me on this one. If an O-3 pays motorex (or whomever) to import their car into the states instead of the military....it's because it's not going to happen at the governments expense. |
All right got that straight then, so how is it over there.
|
How is it over here? ....schweet....

Okay, it seems as if people can't read/comprehend my initial post. Let's break it down simple.
1. I said the MILITARY will not ship. 2. This does not mean the 02 rx7 can't get into the USA. 3. This means that the MILITARY will not ship the 02 rx7 into the USA. 4. I KNOW that the 02 rx7 can be imported into the USA. 5. I KNOW that the 02 rx7 can NOT be imported into the USA by MILITARY MEANS. any questions? |
so...if i buy an 02 RX7 in Japan... will the military ship it for me or not? I'm confused.
