i saw a pic of an fd with backseats. how is that so? do all the fd's in japan have backseats? can you put backseats in a us fd?

wile_e_coyote 11-10-2003 12:40 PM

I think they sell conversions to make the US cars 2+2. I don't know who you could fit back there. Even a midget would be cramped...maybe an amputee...

Yeah, I know some FDs in Japan are supposed to be 2+2. I don't know if it is stock, or a kit though.

Why bother with the kit, the area in the back is to small for anything.

I bought a set from a guy in the UK for $500 shipped, only reason I got them was for my daughter. You need to remove the rear panels where the speakers go and the storage bins, the seats replaces all. Once installed, they do look like they came with the car from factory.

Got any pics of that? i would like to see what they look like

GASOLINE 11-10-2003 04:15 PM

i saw them too. the old owner of my car owns a shop and he wanted to sell them to me for 400. the seats are tiny and i dont imagine you would get any leg room if installed in the car.

I bought the seats and trims out of a Jap FD rear-cut here in Perth. I think I spent about AUS$400 all up or maybe a bit less. They fit as per the factory but the carpet doesn't quite match up just infront of the rear seat on the sides (the side trim panels are slightly different)

Yeah getting someone in the back is possible, 2 people unless dwarfs they arent going to make it.

Other then that they have a weird shape so they are kind of pricey to ship.

$500 is a great deal as long as they were in great shape.

andynogo 11-10-2003 07:11 PM

I wouldn't want to try to fit someone in there, and the funny thing is that now I just use them a lidless storage bins anyway!

I just think it looks better...
