Hi Guys,



I am finally ready to install my SPA dual gauges so I thought I'd ask you guys some ?'s before I get cracking.



1) Where the heck do I put the OIL TEMP sensor ??



2) I am running a lot higher oil pressure than a stock FD's ... My Oil Pressure at WOT is like 120-125 psi ...so where should I put the OIL Pressure sender ??



3) Where is the best location to put the FUEL PRESSURE sender ? I have relocated the filter (earls unit) to the front, using -8 an fuel lines with Cosmo pump and an SX Reg up front....should I just use the fuel pressure gauge spot on the SX pressure regulator ...or should I tap into the fuel line somewhere ..before or after the injectors but before the return line??

fr 1 and 2 there are a couple places. you can put a "t" on the oil pressure sender, so you can add the temp sender. or you can tap the banjo bolt under the oil filter and put the sender in there. you can also put the racing beat adaptor thing in there.



3. id use the fpr, cause its there and i'm lazy

Oh ..I'm not so sure that using the the oil temp by the pressure sender will be all that useful... I just don't think it would give a good representation of the actual oil temp...

racing beat seems to want the oil temp as it goes into the engine, and thats between the cooler and the oil filter. i guess the pan would work too, thats where the instructions for the greddy gauges want you to put it.

By using the pan as the as a source for oil temp; is this referring to drilling a hole in the side of the oil pan, tapping it and then installing the sending unit? Or perhaps there is a special drain plug/sending unit combination that could work? This seems sensible but is it the "best" idea?



I, like you, 3rdGen7, am planning on getting a SPA dual gauge that monitors water temperature and oil temperature and would like to know more about this.

if anyone taps an oil pan they are really drilling a hole and welding a bung onto it, and that will have the threads on it.



my fc has a oil temp sender in the oil pan, next to the level sensor. I think thats stock on it?

Someone told me that by using the oil pan..the temps tend to be a lot higher..some say tapping into the oil cooler line in to the motor is a good place.

They also give an inaccurate reading. I had mine tapped into the oil pan and it gave very inconsistent readings(fluctuation while IDLEING) and gave very high temps. I have a greddy oil filter adapter(same as the RB) and have my oil pressure/oil temp's there. They provide very solid oil temps and I have had no weird readings ever since.



I have my fuel pressure where the sx fuel pressure gauge has a "T" to add an in car FP Gauge. If you do all an fittings, you could buy the adapter that fits at the end of the secondary fuel rail.

the greddy instructions want you to tap into the drain plug, it kinda sounds like they dont want to buy a motor cause you got metal shavings into it

i can't find a place that will sell these thigns for a decent price... price should be 120 english pounds equiv to 200 USD.
