Alright as you guys probably read I just finished my '79 with the '86 engine and fuel injection I have in my posetion a 55 shot of zex, do I use it or no, I can't decide please help
PS It's probably running mid 14's right now, do it or no, please help.... |
Why not?A 55 shot won't hurt it.Especially a zex kit.It kill the nitrous if the air/fule mixture gets too lean.
Honestly, I wouldn't use nos.. but that's just me..
I can't wait till my NOS kit gets here. :yum: https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif Direct Port is the way to go.Especially on a NA

I figured I have it why not??? I just don't want to hurt anything, but I don't see why it would, besides If it does, that would just mean rebuild with a good heavy porting and some atkins seals then a 100 shot of Zex to top it all off.
In a way it's sort of cheating, but I feel like when people turbo cars that don't come that way from the factory, that's cheating too; so just to play fair. Funny thing is I beat the fastest honda in town even with it's turbo, 7's RULE! |

I would definately put it in.

NOS works wonders itsnot cheating its just fair cuz everyone can have it...... and not as much as turbo |

Ok then, I have a question for the people running Nitrous on your NA, I have an S4 NA streetport that I am thinking about running a NX wet system on, but If I do it, Im not going to waste my money on a little 50-75 shot....what if I was to run a 150 Fogger system? Can I kiss my motor good-bye?
I'm not as experienced with the nitrous, but on an S4, especially with no rebuild, i'd say a 150 shot, yeah, you could kiss it goodbye...at least alot sooner than if you ran without NOS.
I've got about 5,000miles on a SP rebuild....
In that case, I believe it will just cause more wear. Once again, I'm no expert, I'm just passing on what I've heard.
I know that "NOS" makes a kit for our N/As and they recommend a 75 shot, and say that it will not pose any engine problems. But the installer recommends I only use it when I need it. Like when is that? I will use it if I have it, and I cant wait to get it. But, I would like to see the ZEX system before I buy, I hear they are "safer".
Zex is a dry system ONLY I thought..am I wrong? And Dry on our engines itsn't the best...wet is the way to go I DO believe..
I heard wet is safer all around.
I just don't feel like risking my engine on nos..
Humm, that was very useful. Thanks! I am seriously thinking about going with a direct port system jetted at 130-150hp. If anyone knows someone running a similar set up please let me know, I would like to get some more info on setting it up on my motor.

PM scathcart on the other forum, he wrote the writeup I posted. He runs some crazy amount of nitrous on his TII he should be able to help you.

It's installed but the silinoid seems to being opening with any throtle so I'm contacting them to find out what's wrong, also it's a bit of a pain to get the bottle filled around here, either a wait till friday or drive 30 miles to get it filled, I'll let all you know how it goes

I called tech support he told me to send him the computer and he would replace all of the internals, because it sounds like something is wrong with it, I also found out it is 'shooting' at no throtle, with any throtle it stops. But there is a problem with the solenoid. I'll let you know how it works out
