Have any of you seen these yet? Any of you own a pair? I talked to the guy about 3 - 4 months ago about them. I thought about picking up a pair. I just didn't know wether or not he does a very good job making them. Any one interested here is his e-mail...... psychodad1313@hotmail.com <psychodad1313@hotmail.com>

They Cost $125 With Core

Or $220 Without

Your pictures came up as x's, but I think you're talking about the clear tail lights, right? They look ok, but they may be illegal. You may be able to find a nice set of rounds if you like them. I got a perfect set for $190.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-08-2001 12:25 AM

WTF!?! My pics were there earlier. Yeah they do look illegal, last thing I need is another reason for the cops to pull me over. 89 - 92 tail lights are expensive. But I like the way they look.

If you run colored bulbs you may get away with it.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-08-2001 07:52 PM

There are colored lenes behind the clear part. But I don't think that the red part is reflective.

I checked the links to get the pictures. Geocities never works when you try to post. So I saved one and attached it. The lights actually look pretty good. They're very different.

As long as they have red and orange on them you should be ok.

:0 those are kinda cool. Does anyone have a pic with them on their car or a 7. but i just spent like 275 for my pair of round taillights and they are a little too ricey for me. :p

Try getting in touch with the guy who makes them. I'm sure he'd be glad to send you some pictures: psychodad1313@hotmail.com . You think rounds are ricey? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

No no no, :newlaugh: I love my round ones, do think i would pay $ for rice???? I think the red/white taillights are ricey.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-08-2001 11:29 PM

I think that a 2nd gen 7 would look good with a pair of those. I am sick of seeing Acuras, Hondas, and Neons running around with Altezza taillights. And for $220 a pair that isn't that bad. I'll think about getting them. That's why I was asking if anyone owned them. I wanted to see if they liked them.

True, i think many 7 owners would go, OoOoO AhAhAH!

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-08-2001 11:43 PM

There isn't **** out there in the way of taillights, hoods and body kits for the 7s. But there is tons of that **** for hondas and acuras, and here in Seattle thats all you see.

Rxtasy 12-09-2001 09:33 AM

yeah, it's the same way here in san antonio, bunch of wanna be show cars.... for now I'm going to leave my 7 looking completly stock with very few stickers on it as well, it's alot more fun to have someone challenge you thinking you have a close to stock car, then you take their sack lunch and hand them their ass on a silver platter :newlaugh: the only sticker going on my car is the haltech sticker, seems how I payed $1,430 for it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

but a friend of mine had some rounds on his 88 N/A and it actually did look pretty good...

I knew a guy who made clear taillights for his RX-7 and they loooked pretty nice. The ones you showed me look better.

Not nearly the selection there is for hondas though. And most of the good looking body kits for the FC are like $1000 just for the front bumper. Although I do like the corksport front bumper, plus it is only $400

http://www.corksport.com/rx7/pictures/2rx8007.jpg

But I like this one better....

http://www.rx7.com/pics/fc-amemiya-d0021.jpg

Damn I need $2000. The Bomex kit looked pretty good too, and it isn't too expensive I think its like $430

http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/fc/FC_Front1s.jpg

Hey Bomex got their 7 painted, and all the prices for their kit... It looks pretty damn good too. $1150 for the whole kit, not bad!

The nice kits made for FC's may be alot, but they'll usually fit very well because the quality is excellent. Corksport has been coming out with alot of cool replica parts. Alot of those honda kits etc. are crap. I like the R-Magic front end:

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-09-2001 05:40 PM

I like that hood! Too bad that front end costs a **** load. I'd love it on my car, but for the price of that bumper I could have the whole bomex set up, and $ left over. Oh well I'm not going to put a body jit on untill my car is at least running 14s. No point in looking fast if you can't back it up. I've killed many hondas that were sporting body kits and 4 foot tall wings, you know their $ didn't go under the hood. Have you taken your vert to the track? What kind of ETs are you running with it? I'm going to be doing a TII swap next year, so I'm just curious what I'll be able to do. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

My car looks ok, but I spent too much to do the body right now.:( I bought 89-91 mouldings and a rear bumper, but I still need a front end.

I didn't get a chance to go to the track this year. So maybe I'll get a G-Tech to see where I'm at. It should be able to hit 11's without any trouble. 10's would be nice, but I"d probably have to run about 25 PSI for that. I think that I would have VERY bad traction problems at 25 PSI.

If you do a TII conversion 14's will be easy to do. You should be able to get into the 13's with alot of bolt on stuff. The convertibles are a little heavier than TII's, but the difference isn't that much. I have no airpump, A/C, P/S, interior trim in the trunk, insulation under my interior carpet. That probably saves close to 100 lbs.

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-09-2001 07:24 PM

You should post a pic of your verts engine, or send it to my E-mail. I'd like to see it. How much boost do you normally run? You've got the 9.5 # flywheel on your vert too, right? Do you like it? I'm still trying to decide wether or not to get it, or maybe a 12# or 17#. Do your rpms drop realy quick when you're shifting? After I get my turbo engine in this will be my next mod........

http://www.mazdatrix.com/pictures/racing/r7-3.jpg

They claim a 59 hp increase on a 87 TII. Not bad for $800. that should put me into 14s easy!

There are some pictures of my car at th Tri-7 Halloween cruise at:

http://www.getaway2.com/flybye/cruise/

http://www.vosko.net/photos/halloween/

http://photos.yahoo.com/pvival

My car is the only convertible in the pictures. In the engine shots it's the car with the Mazdatrix front strut tower bar.

The 9.5# flywheel is great. It's a little tricky to get a good launch at first, but once you get the hang of it it won't be too hard. The RPM's don't drop much more than with the stock flywheel. I noticed that when my friend drove the car on Friday. When he shifted at around 6K the RPM's dropped by about 1000. He didn't shift over that because he's a wuss.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR He's used to the active handling on his Corvette and was worried that he'd spin the car.

The RB TII system is definitely worth the money. It does what they say. That system, an intake, and some fuel system upgrades should get you into the high 13's. Just make sure that your motor is healthy.

By the way, do you plan on running the motor with the stock ECU or a standalone ECU?

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-09-2001 08:04 PM

I was planning on running the stock TII ECU untill I could scrape enough $ together for a haltec. But I might be better off getting the haltec when I get my TII engine. It would make the swap a little easier I think. Is the haltec a stand alone, or do you need the factory ECU too? What are you using? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

If you want to use the TII ECU then you'll also need the TII fuel injection wiring harness. You'll also have to modify the convertible's main harness to work with the TII ECU. Running a standalone will be MUCH easier because you won't have to worry about the stock wiring for the ECU. You can actually take apart your stock FI harness and just leave the parts for the wipers, cruise control, and water temperature gauge.

The Haltech E6K is a standlone system. It's pretty popular because there's alot of support for it, and it works well. I'm using a Wolf 3D on my car. It works well. I had actually planned on using a TEC II, but the one I bought wasn't working properly when I installed it. I had the Wolf. So I installed that. I sent the TEC II back to Electromotive and they said it had a bad resistor. So they fixed it for me at no charge. I would like to install it again, but my car is running well and I don't want to mess with it right now. The TEC II should run it alot better, but I'm too lazy right now.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
