I am running 235/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear. I do a lot of auto-cross. They are excellent tires. The grip is good in wet weather also.

One of my friends has 225 45's on the front and 245 45's on the back on S5 turbo wheels. He loves them. Great traction. I just ordered Bridgestone Potenzas though, they were rated higher.

Cool! Thanks for the replies, guys!

I ended up getting ES100's in 225/50-16 all the way around on the stock meshy TII rims.

So far, so good.

FrestyleFC3S 08-07-2003 02:42 AM

you shoulda squeezed some larger ones in the rear...oh wellz .. still good

Cost was a factor too.

BTW, what are the widest tire you can run on the stock TII wheels? 235? 245?

245's fit fine, but I worry about uneven wear. I dont know if its an issue, b/c my friend doenst have that many miles on his tires yet. But I have 225 50 15's on my GTU rims, and the wore SO unevenly. Ill get a pic in a few days when my potenzas/S5 TII rims go on.

Stock wheels? Stick with the stock size. The gain in traction is mostly in your head and the turn in isn't as good. Want wider tires? Get wider wheels.
