Damn clutch doesn't dissengage. It's been sitting for 6 months now, and I think I just forgot to press fork on to that little knob in housing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif
Plz give feedback https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/blackeye.gif |
What exactly are the symptoms? Does the pedal feel "dead"?
|
Full presure in petal, just doesn't dissengage...
Pretty new TObearing and PP/clutch to. |
Check the slave cylinder.....
|
hm, can you have someone get in the car and press he clutch pedal while you watch the slave cylinder and fork confirming full motion at that end of the system? (you might want a flashlight handy)
if you really did forget to put the fork back onto the ball... you might be able to coax it back on from the outside since the fork is just a stamped steel part that pivots on the ball, held in the housing by a dust boot, retained on the ball with some thin wire spring basically... you can move it around and such, possibly getting it on. If you see the fork moving properly and it is pivoting on the ball, it's probably not the problem. You can confirm if it's pivoting on the ball and pressing the TO bearing against the PP fingers by pressing the fork with your hand, simulating the slave cylinder pistons motion, and seeing if there is resistance from the PP fingers against the TO bearing. If everything checks out, your pilot bearing may be fucked. You didnt seem to make any mention of the pilot bearing anywhere in your post, did you replace it while you had it apart? Was it a major struggle getting the trans back in / lined up? (if so, it can damage the pilot bearing / seal) The pilot bearing can engage the input shaft of the trans which can exhibit this exact behavior, when it's damaged/seized etc... or if the trans/engine are forced together with clutch misaligned or the trans out of line with the engine. |
The pilot bearing was replaced less than 3k miles ago, with clutch and PP. I checked the slave already and looked normal. Im going to check it right now. Thx for suggetions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

if you have a pry bar you might be able to get the fork on without taking it apart. if thats the problem

removing the engine just because of this is kindof silly, you have to disconnect all the bullshit. |
It took me 1 1/2 to dissconnect all the BS, getting the lift tomarrow. Also I've taken this tranny out before, it was never stuck in there like this either (and yes all bolts are disconnected) . If the tranny is FUBAR'd for some stupid reason im getting a first gen with a blown motor ive been looking at.

Sweet.First gens with FC engines rule. You just need the GSL-SE front cover and mount. Why waste the FC tho?
|
heeh, if you get the 1st gen, you wanna donate some of your parts to me? like the short shifter, and maybe the flywheel/PP ?
SoNiX: the parts Vulture |

Did you shim the fly wheel? After you cut the flyweel it needs to be shimed away from the e-shaft to make up for the ammount cut off, or the clutch won't disengage!!
