The water pump is sooooo inaccessible, and there's practically no room to mount the sender!!!

Can I install it in the plastic thermostat housing neck? Like drill/jbweld the fitting into it?

Thanks

No. It will crack. You will either need to take off the water pump and housing and tap it in the rear, or wherever it will fit, or get a pipe with bung on it and put it in your upper rad hose. My Omori is like the latter but it scares me because it is after the thermostat, so if it sticks closed you don;t get the right readings.

anyone ever try the lower radiator hose?

Cosmo Donk 07-10-2003 08:28 AM

That would actually be better but there is not much to work with down there. If you can fit a metal pipe with bung in there than by all means, go for it:)

What about the metal pipe (heater hose line) that connects to the lower rad hose opening? I wonder if there would be room to tap that and put the sensor in?

Cosmo, your car is bad ass btw...

Cosmo Donk 07-10-2003 09:41 AM

Do you mean that pretty skinny metal pipe?? Dunno about that.

Yah, I like my car, too bad the damn thing is broken.

FCmaniac 07-10-2003 09:45 AM

Yeah, I was thinking it may be to skinny but wasn't sure.. WP housing is best but a PITA for just a temp sensor install

remove the hose, cut it, install metal pipe with bung welded on then

put the whole thing back in the car assembled, it would be no harder then putting

the lower hose in to begin with
