So, here's the deal, was driving around the other night just fine, the car pulled just as fine as it normally does.

I wake up last night, go to punch it and it sounds like it's running out of air or fuel around 5k rpms, I can't make it past 8k rpms...here's the catch UNDER LOAD (and no I was just testing it out to see if it would hit the rev buzzer) my exhaust just starts popping a lot until I shift into the next gear.

I tried leaning it out on the SAFC and riching it up, neither helped.

I lost to a Scion Tc with a full exhaust from headers back with an intake also due to this problem, but I only lost by a half of car, it's great until I hit that damn dead spot, or else I would have passed him.

The 5th & 6th ports seemed to have been working fine the other day, the only thing I've done in the past two days was change the oil (Mobil1 10W-30 - K&N Oil Filter - Like always) and reground ONE connection because of my head light problems, so far, even grounding it directly to the battery didnt help my problem.

To me, it seems like the injectors are coming on too much or are hung open (110 miles on $30 gas is NOT normal for me, usually 190 miles to a tank minimum) or the 5th and 6th ports stopped working magically, I think it's the first option so my next question is, where do I buy replacment fuel injectors because I'm sure teh secondarys are clogged up anyways, but I dont want to pull the whole manifold for the primarys...

The car runs fine up to 5k rpms where the REVs take FOREVER to get up anywhere high, so it's defintley drivable, just not raceable...

Your secondary injectors come on at ~3500 rpm, so I doubt its an injector problem.

I'd double check the 5/6 ports, and also double check that the VDI is working, seeing as how your car is a 90 GXL (wewt we've got the same car!)

How do I check that the VDI is working?

Usually people respond pretty fast but it is Sunday, I figured out what it was.

When my friend up at the oil change shop was changing the oil and filter, he leaned on the intake manifold and apparently knocked the VDI Connector off, now it pulls strong all the way up to 8k like it's supposed to.

In fact, I whooped a brand new Toyota Camry with no problem at the light beside the gas station lol!

Alright, the dreaded bastard is bad, I'm going to have to yank the whole intake manifold and free up the 5th and 6th ports...the problem with the low climbing rpms is gone, now its just trying to get the power I need in the high rpms...l

Narrowed it down to 100MPH +

It's not noticable in any gear except fourth because you're at the rpms so long.
