Alright so I finally got my engine back from the mechanic. It has been completely rebuilt with new seals and gaskets all around. Even some new parts. I have a question about the injector plugs and a question about this sending unit on the driver side of the block...
first, the injector wire question: I know which of the plugs are for the injectors, thats easy. The question though is which plug goes to which injector? I have scanned through my Haynes manual and I cannot come up with anything as to which plug goes to which injector. They are stock 550cc injectors all around (still working order, had tested) So does it matter which plug goes to which set of injectors? Is there like some "firing order" for the injectors? The primary and secondary feature on these engines is half the reason I ask about this. The other half is well, what goes where concerning the injector plugs https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif Second, the sending unit question: Is the little sending unit looking thing next to the oil pressure sending unit an oil temp sending unit? if so can I just replace it with my autometer oil temp sending unit instead of using this tall pedestal and risk an oil leak from the oil filter? Or like anything else on these cars if I unplug it and replace with a "better" source of temp reading will it tell the ecu to take a crap on me? any info would be awesome, thanks in advance all, -B. |
The injectors nd to be plugged in like they were, bottoms to the bottom harness tops to the top harness, and the snding unit behind the oil pressure snding unit is the water temp.
|
Well then what the hell is the sending unit in the radiator? Can I replace this water temp unit with the autometer water temp unit I have? this is quite strange. I dunno if my wire harness has the plug for it because I am using an S5 N/A driver side harness. the passenger side is for the S5 T2. Dont tell me I have to get another wire harness https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

The one in the block is just for the gauge. As far as the wiring harness???????? dont know.
|
Heh alright, if its just for the gauge in the dash then if there is a wire connector for it or not is alright. I am sure the wire harness will plug up because it really doesnt have that much to do with the engine. just the accessories. lights, motors, switches, accessories, you get the idea. Plus it plugged straight into the ecu so...? who knows, I will have to get it finished and turned over to find out. well, thanks for the input its helped out.

the sensor in the radiator is a water level sensor not temp sensor and the connector for it is in the headlight harness or bumper harness what ever its called. temp sensor is on the back of the thermostat housin a square injector plug looking connector and the gauge sensor is on the block next to or around to oil pressure sender its a nipple comin out of the housing
