Well i have a rebuilt wiper switch and it has been working until today. You turn it on and the relays just buzz, which seems very odd as when they burn out they don't do anything. It also seems quite odd that they would burn up at the same time.
Maybe contacts in the switch itself? |
I love a good mystery!
It still amazes me that mine passed inspection. I think it only works on low speed, and then only intermittently. Fortunately, I never drive the car in the rain. |
yea that's the common issue, wut i dont get here is both relays are buzzing.
|
I'm thinking a "fuzzy" connection in the wiper switch could cause the relays to buzz.
|
yea, it sounds like its making a "flickering" connection, maybe due to a bit of grime or dust or something between the contacts. is the switch recieving a constant 12V?
|
Well a bit of testing and I found that it's something in the rotary switch itself, you see if I jump power to from one side of the switch to the other I get working wipers, which at that point the relay closes fine.
Sooooooo, time for a new switch, which is fun since it's for s4 verts only. |
Before you toss the switch - try this stuff.
It works on window switches, TPS, door lock switches, stereo controls, logicon controls. etc.. http://208.62.166.66:82/guest/pics/m...ct_cleaner.JPG |
hmm, where do you find that? I have never seen it.
Thanks! |
maybe from the home depot?
