https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif I just ordered the window stripping for my second gen from Mazdatrix.com ,cause the old stripping is rusted and I am sick and tried of painting it. I wanted to know if anyone knew how to remove the old and put the new ones on? It sounds to simple but today I took one of the new window strips and compared it to the old and it is longer than the old one? By more than an inch! Do I have to cut it to fit? Somewhere I read you have to remove the mirror to put it on then someone said you just pop the old off and snap on the new ones?!?! I have been looking all night for a website that has a detailed write up of how to remove them. I have had no luck. Thanks for the help!

super easy. i assume you mean the horizontal ones at the base of the window. open the door, on the inside is a triangle, covering where the mirror goes. carefully remove the triangle (70% chance it will break anyways), unscrew mirror. roll down window. grab old moulding, and pull up. clean under moulding. pop new one in, reinstall mirror, bask in the glory of job well done

unless you got the ones for the convertible, they are longer

Are you saying the convertable window seals are longer than the normal car ones? Or that the normal car window seals are longer than the convertable. I hate sending stuff back. Especially when I ordered it from California and I am here in Florida! Oh I still haven't tried putting them on I have been sanding the car down for the new paint job I am getting. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

convertible seals are longer. yours might be right if they slip under the mirrors, a easy way to tell right away a vert window seal would be to see if the rubber is notched out for the vent window.
