well i Just went out and looked on my RX-7 and i happened to notice why it says 87-92, because on an 86 the fenders go around the tire, where on the 87 + it goes to the tire then the front bumber covors the tire... so that answers the question on will it fit... now ill have to get new fenders... damn https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

rotarychainsaw 10-02-2002 07:00 AM

Seppuku 10-02-2002 07:03 AM

yeah sorry i couldnt find the pics i was looking for. Im going to have to rearange the images on my site so i can find them easier.

rotarychainsaw 10-02-2002 07:20 AM

I looked at some pics on the net. I get what you mean, I never noticed it before. I think the s5 way would be better anyway. the previous owner of my car hit a curb or something, so eventually i'll have to get a front end + a fender.

Post a pic of the other fender, because I have no clue what your talking about?

Seppuku 10-02-2002 11:03 PM

Ok i got a better example today then i had yesterday hope it makes sense.http://www.nopistons.net/seppuku/fenderexamples2.jpg

dysthymia 10-03-2002 01:38 AM

Okay, Seppuku, you're on crack! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

My S5 fenders come all the way down like your S4 example. Perhaps another S5 owner can back you or me up on this.

One interesting thing is that Mazdatrix lists a different part number for 86-88, 89-91 NA, and 89-91 Turbo fenders. Anyone know what the differences are? http://www.mazdatrix.com/n-3.htm

isamu 10-03-2002 02:32 AM

Interesting!. Well I have S4 TII fenders on my N/a and they fit fine. The did come with mud/rock guards but I took them off.

dysthymia 10-03-2002 02:34 AM

Well, the 86-88 part number is the same whether they are NA or Turbo. I think, though, that any of them are interchangable, no matter what series or engine.

Seppuku 10-03-2002 02:41 AM

you can use any series fender on all the second gens but some way or another the fenders are different and as for the picture i followed the line of the bumper to that point. Im not completly sure if im correct or not becuase i have a S4.

Seppuku, thats a tottaly custom nose on there, it COVERS the seam between the fender and the bumper, thats not the way ALL S5s are.

vosko 10-03-2002 08:19 PM

seppuku your pic is WRONG. my 89 TII nose goes where the green line is

His pic is of a custom kit, all the damm fenders are the same, I think the only diff is how they notch them out for the body side molding.
