I have a 1987 T2 that i have been working on

-streetport

-port matched intake and exhaust manifolds

-ported turbo wastegate

-k&n intake setup (came w/the car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... )

Turbo is stock and intercooler is stock.

As of now, so are the fuel injectors. 550cc for all 4.

What sort of boost level is safe to run on this setup, and if i jumped up to 720cc secondary injectors, is it worth it to do now or can i safely wait??

additionally, i know its a hard question, but what sort of power do you think it will make???

thanks,

-jeff

As soon as you install an FCD, your ECU no longer will see boost creep, and the dash gauge will read below actual pressure.

Also the ECU will not retard spark timing as much as it used to.

A mechanical boost gauge is a must.

I found a cheap Sunpro at Pep Boys for <$15.

(The mount costs more than the gauge.)

When the boost gets up around 9PSI the stock ECU map & injectors will begin to run lean.

With an S-AFC or 720 secondarys you're good to 10-11PSI.

for boost control i'm using an hks ez-evc II

i guess i was just curious how much boost it is capable of, how much it is safe to run w/the stock injectors, and how much is safe to run w/720 secondaries???
