Tell me what you guys think of this wide body kit...a slope-nosed front bumper/airdam with integrated driving light recesses and functional front brake cooling ducts, a front valence panel, four flared fenders, two door appliques, two door sill extensions, a wraparound rear bumper and underbody panel.

Lets you stuff up to 9.5"x17"wide tires in the front and 11.5"x17" wide tires in the rear. all for a mere $3,395.00(not including spoiler)

I've always liked it, but so far I haven't been willing to cough up the cake. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Seppuku 04-08-2002 08:16 PM

ill be buying that one soon with the spoiler

hebbs 04-08-2002 08:22 PM

i will be buying one soon also but im getting a taller wing on the back same style just a but taller

1Revvin7 04-08-2002 08:35 PM

i have that on my wall, lol. U forgot to mention the fiberglass heat riser hood, i've always like that kit. But i don't like that the front ends on either kits they look like a suprs, 80's style supra. Just fix that slit thing and it would be cool and ftps. Only thing i will be getting is the hood, unless someone somewhere makes one like that in cf for cheaper :sigh:

Its not the cost of the kit, its making it look good on the car thats the hard part. Youre looking at alot of labor to put this on a car. I did a fiberglass body on a jeep cj, the body was only a few thousand dollars, but it was a good 100 hours AT LEAST to put it on, but when the person first decided to take on the project he thought it was simple "bolt the seats in, dash, windshield, and its set". Little did he know, lol.

If they gave it to me for nothing I'd be glad to do the labor. :sigh:

i dont know about you, but having a kit like that your car must be modded like ****, i mean, real HP.....just imaging having a nice car like that, but only 200hp...it makes me think of a 4cyl ferrari.....pretty sad :(

90N/A Rex 04-08-2002 11:11 PM

I always liked the side skirts/door skins. If I had 4g to drop on a kit I would get that one or the Run racing one. But 4g will get me a sweet turbo motor.

UniqueTII 04-09-2002 04:49 PM

I don't like that kit. It takes away from the stock looks, as opposed to enhancing them.

It's not a "normal" kit. It changes just about everything but the roof.

kimo3 04-09-2002 08:29 PM

here are afew moe to look at, I am not a big fan of Mariah body kits. I think the ones oin the pics are form RE-Aemiya.

kimo3 04-09-2002 08:30 PM

Seppuku 04-09-2002 10:50 PM

Rotorboy317 04-09-2002 11:43 PM

Got any info on those RE-Aemiya kits? I really like the blue FC in the upper-right corner. niiiice.

I dont have the cash to even think about anything but the necessary mods, but when I get some I would like to know where to find those kits.

The Mariah kits definitely have their own look. Personally I think they are a bit much, but to each his own. If you were going to spend 4 grand on a body kit, you might as well drive or ship your car to Mariah and have them do it. I have no doubt that they are true rx-7 lovers! And your car would look quite incredible with the grace of their hands. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

hebbs 04-10-2002 09:23 AM

do you have the web site for those other body kits?

The Blue Bomber 04-10-2002 10:16 PM

i like the widebody kits. they kinda make the car look like a porsche 944 but better. my car won't get one until she's pushing 400+ hp and then all will bow to me! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

jmseven7 04-10-2002 11:48 PM

The Tri-Point wide body kits look much better. Those kits do not take away the look of the FC....just looks right...wide.

kimo3 04-11-2002 09:39 PM

the kits are RE-AMEMIYA kits, I have been talking to someone at a co. called aerodyne she is looking into the kits for me. As soon as i find out i will let you know. this pic is the R-Magic GT wide body kit and it is $13,000 from what i am told

I wholeheartedly agree. Although I do like the look of the FEED widebody as well, but not for the 4-5 grand most importers want for those :shakehead:

kimo3 04-12-2002 09:17 PM

It wasnt match porting the turbo to manifold as you would have to make the turbo undivided somehow. All I did was match port the runners on the turbo itself.

Theres a writeup on Ted Koseki's site at

http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/HOWTO/TURBINEPORT/tport.html

As for improvements, I seemed to get quicker boost response, especially once i went back later and removed the twin scroll and also performed the throttle body mod.

I really wish I had a flow bench to see if it really did make a difference though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Javier 04-16-2002 04:25 PM

Those Fenders are pretty kewl. and $600 smackers isnt bad but i wonder how much it would cost to have them put on.

does anybody here know what a rough estimate would be to have those put on?

The fronts look like they'll bolt right in. To do the rears you'll have to cut the old fenders. Then you'll have to weld the new rear guarters on, if they're steel. If they're fiberglass then you'll need to rivet them on and then blend them in, etc.

kimo3 04-24-2002 12:43 AM

From what i understand the whole kit is fiberglass. A really good body shop should be able to do the install. I would say install and painted maybe $1000. I might be a little low but not much
