yeah so i just got through with some mods on the car and decided to take it out. during the mods when i had the intake off i ran another grouhnd to the harness ground under the intake becuase i thought it might help the 3800 problem. so anyway i take it out and it still does it! so i pull it back in the garage and get a buddy to probe a test light into one of the secondary injectors (shoulda thought of this before) and as soon as the engine started it lighted up!!! the damn things arent supposed to come on till about 3800, why are they staying on constantly. buddy said when it was cranking over the light flashed and then when the car started the light stayed on constantly from idle to as far as i reved it... to about 6 grand. could the computer be the culprit? the car is an 86, but in yellow paint marker (A.K.A = junkyard writing) on the computer it says "87 mazda rx7 n/a, manual. so i know it has a junkyard comp. what else causes the secondaries to stay on? only electrical mods are system, elec fan through a switch (wich i never use), and glow gauges. thanks

what did you ground? the ecu grounds the injectors, so if theres another ground somewhere they will be on.

2 dumb questions

1. is the light on 100% or does it flash?

2. you're sure its the secondaries right?

i didnt do the grounding.. i think he grounded it on the bracket on the passenger struct tower that holds the pressure sensor... it flashed when the car was cranking and then stayed on constantly at all rpm's. secondaries are the ones you can see right? on the upper intake

yes sir. car runs weird... kinda... hard to explain... car just doesnt feel... "solid" if ya know what i mean. sometimes the idle will kinda jiggle a little under no load change. and when i rev it up and then let off the throttle it will kind of go blublublublu... like stumble just a tad and catch itself... not too bad tho. and it feels like when i get on the throttle hard off acceleration it just doesnt have the power it should. my buddy has a 86 that sat for 10 years that we just got running a month ago... that damn thing will push you back into your seat when you get on it! like whoa! this thing sat for 10 years?!!... mine... just doesnt do that. it does have the 3800 problem. i added 2.. yes two 4 guage wires from the negative terminal of battery to the strut tower. one from main harness ground (under intake on top of egr valve) to chassis. and from back of uim to chassis... i just cant put my nose on it but the car just doesnt run or feel "solid" runs decent tho untill you hit 3800.... oh yeah and also i know at some point my engine has been rebuilt becuase its painted in sections red front cover, silver housing, red iron... ect, ect. oh damn.. .and another thing... after i did the TB mod and rats nest removal it runs a little better and doesnt smoke damn thing... before it smoked like the dickens... now the exhuast is clean... hope all that helps

no it wouldnt. it actually runs better with that TB on it. my s4 TB sweeps to like 6.3 ohms at full throttle ,anyway so it was no good... the s5 one is perfect. it runs better than it ever has now but still is not where i want it to be... im thinking its the computer messing up when trying to switch over to the secondaries... i mean... it is a junkyard computer thats in there now... soo... off to the junkyard to get (wearing a big jacket.. wink, wink) another crappy junkyard computer and see what happens...
