Well, I wake up early thinking lets take the car out, i was going to do it last night but at 2am I dont think my neighbors would like that. So i go out and adjust my idle a bit, start my car let it idle, it gets warm and is idling, so i back it out of my garage, and i go to stop.....well, not stoping...uh-oh, press the brake franticly, it stops, bout a foot from some mail boxes. So i pull it back in my garage, hit the freezer in my garage..ROFL....push my brake pedal, and i hear fluid starting to hit the floor...so i get out, abs is puking its guts out..now my question is...

if i dont my have brake booster vac source plugged in properly could this happen??

I have the brake booster plugged into the Largest opening on LIM, below the 3 that are lined up....correct spot, or does it go to the larger nipple in the middle...

does your e-brake work? I mean, to keep from bumping into stuff? I've driven with just downshifting and e-brake (not that I'm suggesting that)

sorry I don't have an answer for you https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

No it won't, you just won't have power brakes.. What you have is a leak. you may be able to fix it by just finding the line fitting or banjo bolt fitting it's leaking from and just losening it up and reseating it. You will need to bleed your brakes.

tancred 12-05-2003 10:04 AM

Ok, would pulling the abs lines off, and then putting them back on without bleeding the brakes cause this? I pulled one of the lines off and put it back on once..?

Im pretty sure im on the wrong brake booster vac source, but since nobody can tell me if i right or not, im not sure, and, i dont have power brakes right now...

the fluid is comming out of the abs unit, on the underside....

The brake booster hose has a one way valve in it, if you put it on the wrong way you won't have power brakes.

If you didn't get the brake line seated properly it could leak. Your going to need to bleed your brakes no matter what because you have a leak in the system that has sucked air in to it.

tancred 12-05-2003 10:47 AM

I dont have any check valve on my brake booster/vac line...heh...maybe that could be the problem...

phinsup 12-05-2003 10:56 AM

Yea you've got a leak for sure. Where is the fluid pissing out? Check the master cylinder, see if both reservoir's are empty, if so you prolly have an issue at the mastercylinder, if only one is empty you prolly have a leak at one of the calipers, ie an open bleader, broken line or a line broken between the mastercylinder and the calipers.

Yeah, i used my ebrake to get it onto a truck and down to a shop to get messed with, the tow truck guy went to get it off the flat bed and he hit the brakes, nothing and pulled the e-brake, it was a suprise for him..lol...

Brakes got fixed, but still trying to diagnose oil leaking from near where tranny meets engine, im guessing main seal, but it shouldnt be, because it didnt have a problem before, kinda weird, its really pissing me off tho....

gdnimr0d 12-09-2003 01:04 PM

bro you probably blew your oil pan seal...real easy fix...just email me if you want a complete write up on how to do it... GDnimr0d@hotmail.com

Apex13B 12-09-2003 09:51 PM

rear seal/oilpan gasket

tancred 12-10-2003 07:06 PM

Your all wrong, it was the oil feed line, smaller bolts then what were supposed to go inside. So now i have lots of oil on my turbo now i leave a trail of white smoke down the highway, i also have a shot coil wire, so now i get a mad 1-3k hesitation, but at 4k it comes alive...bastard car...

and my abs, the washers on the little bolts were bad! Go figure.....

so now im hoping the smoke will stop after my turbo gets hot enough, i can sit in my garage and about get high off the fumes....
