I'd buy that.

That is just the dumbest thing i ever seen so far. He should be smacked for building that ****. and who ever buys it should be dragged by it and smacked..
|
Just drive your own **** and let everybody else do the same. Did he do that to your car while you were sleeping? No. Does it affect you in any way? No.
Damn, it's just a car. If that guy's car is the worst you have to worry about, then I envy you. The rest of us have real lives to deal with. |

TII: Its not that it affects me, but that thing goes against everything that the RX-7 stands for. |
umm he didnt do **** to an fc. thats a CJ frame, the only thing different is the body panels.
thats like saying how dare someone crash an fc and ruin a body panel. kevin. |
The RX-7 isn't making a statement. It's a car, not a political tool. There is no revolution. You missed the memo.

You cant put FC body panels and the interior on a CJ frame, so a FC was sacrificed for this, but they arent exactly collectables so who cares, the car was probably on its way to the junk yard anyhow. People have been mating different cars to offroad chassis forever. This was posted last week in GEN D by the way, lol. |

How am I owned???
I said he welded a FC to a different chassis and I didnt even read the guys description in EBAY. Can you not read my post?? "a swap like that would be done by basically welding a FC frame to the CJ." learn to read |

If that guy's car is the worst you have to worry about, then I envy you. The rest of us have real lives to deal with. while i hold 'to each his own' as a great adage that i adhere to, it still hurts the heart to see something like that. just LOOK at it. as an rx7 luver, its hard NOT to be pissed. im sure you get pissed about a lot of things that do not DIRECTLY affect your life. read the paper, someone dies, doesnt affect you, yet it still bothers you. i'm not hear to lecture you, but come on, that is just ****** nasty. and yes, we should drive our own **** and let everyone do the same, but that rx7 could have made someone like use - people that respect rx7's - happy. if that guy wants to **** up a car, do it to a probe or a neon or something, NOT an rx7. seriously, thats some sick ****. |

I am usually part of the crowd that thinks it is blasphemy for people to swap a rotary engine out for a piston engine. But in this case I think it is a bit different. The motor was not swapped "because it is better" or "for better reliablity". The entire drivetrain was swapped to change the body over to a completely different use.
In my opinion, to of done a conversion like this "properly" the frame and driveline should of been used out of a Mazda Navajo (yea.. rebadged Ford Explorer). At least you could claim it was all 100% Mazda, sort of. (too bad they never offered it in a V8) I think this conversion is a bit excessive but cool in its own way. I would love to have something simular to it. I would not want it 4' off the ground but with a driveline that strong and powerful I could use it to tow my race car with. How would that look? Pull up at the track in an FC towing a 18' car hauler with my ITS car on it. |
Think of it this way guys. At least it didnt go the wrecking yard. Someone saved a FC from the ultimate death. Although it died by putting a Boinger in it, the car is still there.
Each to there own. I look at it like this: If you put anything but a 12, 13b, 20b, or any rotay in an RX-7, its not the same car anymore. No more wankel soul. Like has been said, this specific FC being modified like that affects your life in NO WAY!! I saw it about a week ago, said "hmmm creative" and moved on... To those who are so upset by it, buy the f*cker, and then rebuild it into a stock FC. Until I see that happen, STFU!! ~Kyle~ |

[/quote] are you ******* kidding me? look at a 78 CJ frame and look at a FC, how in the **** can you bolt the body panels and put the interior from a FC into/onto it??????? Do you realize how short a 78 Jeep CJ is? its shorter then the current frame what holds the entire body of the RX-7 to this CJ frame then? How did he get the whole engine bay and everything to bolt up to the CJ?? He did it by removing the suspension from the RX-7, then basically he welded the frame to a rolling CJ frame. The old cars with a full frame can basically be driven as is when you remove the body, you can drive around the rolling frame, so putting another car onto its frame is a matter of welding some blocks or what have you and then welding them to various parts of the Frankenstein car. If you have ever seen the underside of one of these conversions they are usually a abortion and drive like ****, which is the reason why they almost always do it to offroad vehicles because ride quality and handling is obviously not a issue |

I feel like I am in a Biazarro world, I said he used a CJ frame, one that
he welded a FC frame to it. How many times do I have to say the same thing over and over before it sinks into your head? the thing has both a CJ frame AND a FC frame. |

This is the most hilarious thread ever. And why is Mr. "I envy you" so bitter? You don't want to defend the FC? Go watch Dr. Phil.

Let's see.........CJ with rust-bucket, dog-ugly body.........
Owner says, "how can I class up this piece of junk looking Jeep?" "I know! I'll graft an FC body to it and class it all up!" A few weeks later, Voila! the sexiest off road vehicle going! I guess it's all in how you look at it................. db |

I was correcting your post where you said he "bolted the body panels and the interior from a FC to the CJ frame", the correct statement would be that he welded the FC frame to a CJ frame. I should have been more clear, maybe now that I have explained this for the 5th or 6th time it will sink in. And dont go get bitchy- your the first one to chime in and correct someone. |
I'm sick of seeing this GAY ASS THREAD! GOODNIGHT~
