Does any one know who or where, has the polished aluminum intakes, that go from the afm to the efi?

FCmaniac 12-27-2002 05:50 AM

I am pretty sure nobody makes an aluminum pipe from the AFM to the TB but you can just buy one for another car and fab it to fit..... some guy on here was going to have them custom made but I don't know what happened to that.

what's the best way to attach the new Al pipe to the 2 ends? silicone connectors?

FCmaniac 12-27-2002 12:04 PM

Yeah, ultimately, it would be best to find a silicone coupler/reducer that goes from the alum. pipe (2.5-3" usually) to I guess 4" for the TB.... its hard to find any like that that will fit the unusual shape of our TB's though... Maybe you can fab something that goes from the alum. pipe to the plastic TB inlet adapter that connects to the stock convoluted intake pipe. Does that make sense?? I'm confusing myself now... :bigok:

yeah, that makes sense...just cut some of the stock intake tube off, leaving a short piece of the circle-to-triangular piece, then attach the coupling to that...perfect sense

Just get some riceboy intake, like AEM, from a civic or something and cut it to make it fit.

where are those silicone couplings sold?

FCmaniac 12-27-2002 02:44 PM

I couldn't find the couplers anywhere when I was going to try this.... you can just get a $30-40 Honda intake on Ebay like 1Revvin said for the pipe but the couplers it comes with are too small. I was going to use the pipe off my brother's 92 Prelude... the angles and length look like they would be a good fit.
