for starters i was wondering what wiring harness u used, the jdm one or a american one, and if a jdm one how did you run it? second of all to anyone who has put the us spec wiring harness on a jdm motor how did it react w/o having an egr valve on it? were u using the n332 ecu? thanks for any and all help

I did not do a J-spec S4 but I did do an S5. As far as EGR and ECU's go, as far as I know you can use the N332 and it will work fine. The EGR can be plated off as well as the rest of the emissions. I think someone on here sells them even, the plates to block that stuff off. My wire harness is UK spec (still right hand drive) but it should not make any difference as to which harness you use so long as it is for the S4 T2. After all, the engines aren't backwards, the interiors are. One thing I am going to have to run wires for is my windshield wiper motor because it would be on our driver side in foreign countries that use right hand drive. I would recommend TRYING to find a US spec S4 T2 harness for your swap just to make things flow more smoothly.

Another thing the about the S5 engine is that there is no EGR so I cannot answer your question about that :P. As far as running the wireharness, you would just run it as if it were normally in your car. Solenoid harness on the pass side, Accessory harness on driver side (US version for both of course)

You will need the S4 AFM, ECU, and MAP sensor to make everything work properly. Hope this info is what you were looking for, and always feel free to ask!

-B.

its pretty simple, you just drop the japanese engine in using the us wiring harness. ecu doesnt care about egr, the passages are teeny, its more for decoration than emissions anyways

yeah its pretty easy

does anyone know how to tell wich plugs go to primary fuel injectors and wich ones go to secondaries? i cant tell they look the same and ive searched and cant find anything

Leetheslacker 05-16-2007 10:56 PM

whichever ones reach. they should be coming out seperate spots on the harness.

the ones closest to the primaries, are primaries.

same with the secondaries.

jdm12a 05-18-2007 04:00 PM

yea ive already thought of that, one of them is very short and is certainly the primary but the other 3 r all long enough to reach all 4 injectors
