white smoke

I'm having a problem with my 91 rx7 it was originally EFI but the last owner pulled it off to put a racing beat intake and car problem I'm having is a smoking issue at idle dose not smoke nor at normal driving standing still if I rev it hard it don't really smoke till I let off ,now under load say if floor it from a light it will leave a cloud of smoke no over heating issues, no hesitation, no power loss ,I was told by old shkool rotary heads that its a mixture issue too much oil not enough gas, another buddy piston mechanic said he noticed the valves on the rotor housings where the oil mixture lines go said it could be a problem with the conversion from efi to Carb he say when u rev u get Max vac when realese the throtal and it closes. Which would make sense with what its doin when i release the gas it smoke like its dumping made oil in the combustion chambers
Any idea would be appricieted

Auto or manual? White smoke could be coolant. Any fluids going missing?

Re: white smoke

5speed no major fluid loss aside from the lil more than normal oil loss from the oil mixture it only smokes when I'm gettin on it at wide open. Throtal

White Smoke. Your motor is drinking water (coolant) Time for a rebuild. One of your water seals gave up.

White Smoke- Water

Blue Smoke - Oil

Black Smoke- Rich Gas

You've heard the saying where there's smoke there's fire? It's burning something. The easiest way to determine what is to see what's going missing (coolant, oil, or poor gas mileage).

I'm gonna say oil since it since the oil buzzer went off last night and I put 2 quarts 3 weeks ago because of that buzzer but again it only smokes when I'm getting on it it idels fine no smoke nor while normal driving

If you went through 2 quarts in 3 weeks, I think we can safely assume it's burning oil (at least). Best to top it off every time you gas up, or even every time you start it.

Any idea of miles on the engine since new or last rebuilt? Any history of overheating? You should check the output of the metering oil pump, but I strongly suspect you have a sealing issue in the engine. You should probably check your spark plugs periodically for oil fouling.

Its sitting at 118,000 idk any other history on it just got it a few weeks ago how do I heck the output of the metering pump I mean the oil seam full all the time my 12 car years ago I never saw the lines solid black and full of oil it would pump enough to just drip in the Carb a constant drip that is and more frequent at higher rpm never had a prob with smoke this 13b the lines are full all the time u can see the flow as well seems odd to me but then again this is my first 13b so I'm not familiar if that's normal

Really the only reason I mentioned the oil metering pump is that you said it had been messed with by the previous owner. There's a procedure in the service manual for checking the flow.

If the oil consumption is due to wear in the engine, then you can opt to run a heavier weight oil and see if that helps.

Not sure if this is coincidental, but I had oil burning when shifting at high rpm. When I started premixing, that went away. Could that help?
