The true heater core is up under your dash. And to find it (because there is an AC box, and heater box, and I can't remember which is whick). Just follow the hoses that go off of your engine's main cooling lines (the two big ones that go to/from the radiator). And there will be two smaller rubber lines that go threw the fire wall.
Also to find out if you have heat just turn on the heater! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif |
Ohhh yeah, and seeing as how you have an 88, if you don't have the heater parts in your car, I have all the lines, hoses, fans, boxes... to put it back in. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

do you have to remove the dash to get to it? I need to flush mine out.
|
if you take out your glove box...you can see the AC box and HVAC .... black is AC...white is HVAC
i think im right |
My heater core was in a black "box".
|
the one in the middle?....are you sure...that one had my two AC prssure lines going to it and a big AC cooler
|
the blower and motor are on the right....and the heater unit is on the left....they are connected by a large triangular flex tube...i finally remembered to look in my haynes manual

You should not need to remove the heater core from the car to flush it. You the inlet and outlet are on the firewall in the engine compartment. Removing the heater core would require removing the entire dash if I am not mistaken.

noooooo...the blower IS UNDERNEATH THE GLOVE BOX .......THE HEATER UNIT IS TO THE LEFT OF THAT....IT IS BEHIND THE RADIO AND TEMERATURE CONTROL SETTINGS.....when the heat is activated there is a flap the allows heat from hot coolant to circulated around it which heats the air and the air is then blown from that into the blower which blows the air throughout the vents https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif .......ill print up the procedure thats in my manual tomarow after school...
later...i gotta write this paper now lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
