Pretty much looking for an online catalog that will allow me to purchase mazdaspeed parts for my 7, and the official mazdaspeed wants to know everything about me, what class i race in, see a copy of my racer's license(!), etc. I do not participate in any sanctioned events, but would still like some choice parts. Anyone?

Mazdaspeed USA aka Mazdaspeedmotorsports.com supplies racing parts to people who race their mazdas. These parts are not tuner parts like mazdaspeed japan. Almost all of the mazdaspeedmotorsports.com parts are manufactured in USA by AWR racing. Each part is designed for the specific type of racing you do, ie autox, solo1, solo2, ITS, NASA, etc.
If you try to buy a mazdaspeedmotors.com strut bar it isn't the same as the orange/polished bar that is sold by Mazdaspeed in the japanese market, the bar is actually made by AWR racing and isn't as bling, it is more function then bling. Mazdaspeedmotors.com doesn't sell mazdaspeed coilovers, the blue expensive ones that look like cusco in japan, they instead have variants of the ground control versions. |
so... which one is better to buy from?

mazdaspeed was a company in japan that made lots of parts. they died a couple of years ago.
mazdacomp is a part of mazda and makes parts in the USA. about a year ago they bought the name mazdaspeed and renamed mazdacomp to mazdaspeed for their USA company. for some reason corksport still has old mazdaspeed stuff in stock. but it's no longer made. you can buy mazdacomp stuff from mazdatrix but it's 2x the price. it's cheaper to go do 2 auto-x's for like $30-40 then join if you want to order anything. |
yeah the US one u havt to bs sum crap bout being involved in serious racing. wtf.

It is a service offered by mazda USA to support weekend racers who race on their own budget. Don't mock a service that many depend on to supply parts for their hobbies. If u don't like, don't use it, there is a reason why you need to submit racing results, they are not making any money off the parts they sell you, they sell at almost cost, they don't want joe schmuck coming off the street buying parts for their cars at significant discounts. |
why not? oh yeah cuz their so high priced not all street/ sport car guys can get em.

You are sponsored by recieving a discount on parts. If you don't compete and represent say mazda or a company, why the hell would they want to lose money on you. You are helping to promote their brand. Mazda OEM parts are not that expensive, compared to some other import car manufacturers. |
