what size tires does eveyne run on there fc? i just fodout my friends uncle can get me rims ans tires at 50%off so im going to jump on the offer. ive got a stock 90 gtu... i have 16's on now with 225/50's. what do you think i should go with? also ive got bridgestone potenza re 730's they grip pretty well.. any sugestions for tires?
|
RE730's are pretty good. if you can get them half price that's even better !
|
lol yeah ive got them now in 16's. they grip pretty good but they flew a bit much... do you think that 17's would yeild better handling or is not worth it
|
16's will handle about the same as 17's. it really depends how wide they are. you have a N/A you don't need super wide tires. i had the stock 15's in 215/40 bridgestone re92's the car handled well and had good traction... i don't think your looking for a max performance tire just a middle of the pack https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

get some nice 285's https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

15's with 40 sidewalls? was your car dropped? otherwise you must have had alot of clearance. you cold fit 55 sdewalls on the stock 15's. if going with 17's what would fit?
|
I've got 17x 8.5 in the rear and 16x7.5 in the front(sounds worse than it looks) with 225 in back and 195 in front, Michelin Pilot SX Mxx3's UHP. I really love the way the car sticks to the road now. It gave the car entirely different handling characteristics. Fitment was a bitch though, had to get longer lug nut studs.
Corners and speeds that once would have sent me spinning, I can now take on rails! Although the ride is a little more harsh now, you really feel every imperfection in the road. Tires have to be one of the single best performance upgrades you can make. |

I have 2 sets of tires.
For the street I run a set of rims off of my '00 Mustang GT (I leave the centercaps off) They are 17x8 rims (19 lbs)and I have 225/45 front and 255/40 rear I use Toyo Proxes. The rims fit good the offset pushes them out further than OEM but it looks mean. For the AutoX I have a set of OZ Superleggara 17x8 rims (17 lbs.) EOM offsets with the same tire sizes. 225 front 255 rear I have Victoracers mounted on them. I have no rubbing issues with either setup. BTW - I am running ground control coil overs and 3° negative camber all around, and have the car pretty low. That sound like a pretty cool deal Jeremy. Good luck on your pick!! |
245/45/17 all the way around.
|
245 17's? I didn't think they would fit on the front.... I am running 205/40/17's at all fours on my N/A. They are a little too low pro...wish I'd of gotten 205/45's. I've always been told that you can only get up to 205's on the front of a 2nd gen non-turbo without spacers.... is that true? If not, I'd like to go 215/45's next time. With the 205's, I barely have any clearance against the strut to run wider up front.

What offset are your 17's and are you running any spacers? I'd get 215's or 225's next time if I know they'll fit... Thanks. |
im running 205/55 r16 toyo proxies on mine. they handle great untill i get into some really bad ruts. and up here in alaska we have quite a few bad ruts. other than that they handle the best dry. get them wet tho and i get no traction, like being on ice.
|
you can defintely run 225's up front... they dont rub at all... with a 16'' rim... considering a lower profile 17 you should still be able to run 225's and wider in the back if you feel the need
