That HKS SSQV BOV or whatever it is looks cool. I'm not gonna be running crazy boost though, so I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for. Any ideas?

nismo convert 07-24-2005 01:21 AM

i have the hks ssqv on my car, and when your driving on a curvy road where you down shift alot, it's really anoying, because you know you have to up shift. or in the city, way too many people look.

drunkin_idiot 07-24-2005 02:56 AM

I have the APexi Twin Chamber BOV, super responsive, looks real cool, and is kinda loud, gets kinda annoying, but if you want a Bov that does the job well this is it.

Apollorx7 07-24-2005 02:54 PM

hks ssq all the way

drftk1d 07-24-2005 03:04 PM

im going to put on the

HKS Super Sexy QUSSH Valve with my tII swap

nismo convert 07-24-2005 04:27 PM

the ssqv is more of a pittttttttttuuuuuuuuuuu sound, well with the purple insert any ways, i haven't heard the gold one, but allarently the gold one is way louder

rotarychainsaw 07-24-2005 05:55 PM

I need sound clips. I want one that is more of a single whoosh. My friend had one of those purple greedy ones and it sounded like that. I have heard some others that like went on for a little while with like multiple releases or something. I dunno.

drftk1d 07-24-2005 08:29 PM

i think the apex one sounds like a bird chirping, if you fancy that

I got the apexi twin chamber. I'm a happy apex-i customer. I have never bought or used a bad apex-i product. However!!!! if you have ABS the twin chamer bov's adapter pipe won't fit. I had to re-weld the output 90 degrees clockwise. Oh well....

Nismo: how the hell do you pay for gas if you use boost every single time you accelerate? I pansy drive it around until I see open road with no potential cop traps and goose her.

nismo convert 07-24-2005 09:02 PM

i get like 450km's to a tank, i stay out of boost most of the time, but when i go for a fun ride man does that suck. i'll find you a vid of my car with the bov.

bleh i blew up my HKS SSQV at 17psi, ******* rubber bellows shattered inside the BOV, and it was fairly new, a waste of a couple hundred dollars.

Bought a TurboXS TypeH-RFL for like $89 on ebay, all i did was make sure to grease the cylinder before installing it and it never fail me, was super responsive, etc, just really ******* loud (hence the name RFL)

Honestly the style of the TurboXS RFL i find to be the best and most reliable BOV, just a cylinder and a spring, none of this rubber **** inside and whatever, complicated pieces of unreliable ****, IMHO. Just gotta make sure to grease it up, more people then just TurboXS make this style BOV, its the only style id ever buy.

But the only thing that sucks is they dont make a kit for the stock IC piping like the rest of them do.

4RotorRocket 07-26-2005 07:49 AM

Anyone have sound clips of the new Greddy Type RS BOV?

ryderx 07-26-2005 01:55 PM
