Here's the pic...it's in the front, I have to remove them before I can pull off the water pump cause the oil lines are in the way...

What's it called/???? One of them was (apparently) very weak and the head broke off of it. I think I can get the other half out (looked like plenty was sticking out for me to get a grip on it with some needle-nose), but obviously I need a new one (might as well replace the set). Does anyone know what this thing is called and where I could get a set?

Ok, according to the FSM, it screws into the metering oil pump. Would that make it a "metering oil pump screw"? :/

dude that'd be awesome! but, for my future reference, do you know of any place i could get these?

*edit*

i'm finding a lot about banjo bolts, but i can't find this one!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif it's a 10mm head (obviously), but does anyone else know the description of this? ie: 10x?

Oh yea, another question...does the 4-sleeve washer thingy go between the lines and the oil-metering pump, and then the normal washers go on the other side towards the screw head? I just wanna make sure I'm putting it back on right.

On a side note, I think I'm def changing this to a 2-stroke system when I do my rebuilt, and put a reservoir near where the sub-zero assist tank sits (if i can get one to fit)

save yourself the time and headaches of wrong fitting bolts/threads and just call

Ray @ Malloy mazda 1-888-533-3400

He is a fellow rx7 owner who happens to manage one of the largest Mazda Part dept.'s around.

You should also be replaceing the washers if you removed the bolts.

Honestly youd a been better off just removing your omp when doing the install (thats what i did) that way all youd have to replace was an 1 dollar o ring and you wouldnt have broken that bolt. i guess keep that in mind next time https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

oh fyi take note whether the new housing you got as the hole at the top of the thermostat cover threaded and open cuz if it does you will need to plug it (mine did!) the housings ARE the right part # i guess someone @ the mazda factory messed up.

thx for the info, i'll give him a call today

yea, the housing has the a/t water thermo sensor switch hole open on top. right now i've got it plugged with an aftermarket water temp sensor, and will probably keep it that way unless i can find a dif way to get the aftermarket sensor to fit the stock temp hole (currently it fits in but leaves no room for the threaded part to screw in)

Finally gave him a call today. Just an FYI, DON'T BREAK THESE. I decided just to get a complete set so I didn't worry about the other bolts, and the cost (with washers) was like $42 and change. $8-something per bolt I think plus $1-something per washer. Ouch.

On the plus side, Ray really seemed to know his stuff and after I hung up with him, I didn't feel worried at all that he'd be sending me the wrong part (ie: he knows his 7's, at least a little https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...).

So I'll be expecting these by the end of the week! hooray!
