4.1 LSD

I dont believe the S5 gxl's had a LSD. I thought the only 89-90 n/a to have a LSD was the GTUs, and it was an option on the 91 coupes.

Yes, only TII's and the GTUs had LSD from 89-91.

The exception is the 91 coupes(n/a). LSD was an option, but I dont believe many people opted for it, as it seems pretty rare.

I think 91 was the year of spare parts. I have seen all kinds of different 91's.

the reason i asked in the first place is because the rear in my 90 gxl has a thing on it that says somethin or other limited slip differential fluid only

from my experience.. most gxl's series 4 or 5 were lsd

91's like mine had the option to do it.. but it is rare.. just like leather is rare.

Gxl's are 4.10's lsd and Gtu's are 4.30 lsd's

Well, I think you answered your own question. Why don't you just jack up the rear and spin the wheels in neutral. If they spin in the same direction then you have LSD.
