ive read the posts about e fans and most people seem to be infavor of e fans but some arent.

also does any one know if the shroud makes it that much better?

and what do you guys think of this fan the 16" fan w/ 2950 cfm

one more thing, there is no write up (that i can find on this site) for an efan conversion. i don't think it would be that hard but if any one has any special points of interest i woud be glad to hear them.

Try looking at http://www.rx7.voodoobox.net/howto/efan/efan.html for a how-to.

From what I understand, the stock clutch fan w/ the shroud cools better then most aftermarket electric ones. The only time I'd change(and I am) is when I get an aftermarket radiator....w/ a bigger radiator...I'd want to get a bigger more powerful fan...which I'll probably need once I get a FMIC in place...

You could try using a factory fan from another car. Those fans are usually reliable.

thanks guys,

you have increased my understanding of the fan system. as for the clutch fans does any one know what they are rated for (cfm)?

i have an electric fan on my car now and it cools good, but it doesnt have a shroud. I would have preffered one with a shoud, but i didnt look around too much.

I was talking with the guys at Rotary Performance about the electric fan idea a while back, I was told that for everyday use it really wouldn't be worth the effort, butif you were out racing then it would make a differance. they say for evey watt of power you use you lose 1 hp. so it depends on what you have in mind
