I was just told by my mechanic that I have an oil leak from a gasket that separates the rotary engine in half and that it is a mjor repair. Any ideas?

He probably mean the oil control rings inside the block, rebuild time... Does it smoke a lot?

well in that case, it would be a major repair. Get it serviced by a 'Rotary mechanic' they are hard to find. but you wont see them working on any 5 angle valve jobs...

Like Revvin said. does your engine smoke?

if it's an external leak see if you can get us a pic... otherwise it has to be the oil control rings on the rotors.

however, based on what you said it seems like it might be external, which is why i asked for a pic, if it's a leak between the housings, external, and oil, it could just be the dowel pins leaking, sometimes you can just keep driving on this without much trouble, just a messy engine.
