I can't seem to find anything out there regarding how (logically) these are hooked up. Does the exhaust header go right into the turbo? What does an example of one look like (the exhaust header coming off the block)? I guess I'm maybe looking for a picture of one (that I can see the parts pretty clear) as well as a logical diagram. Attached is how I think it goes...

the front of the turbo snail is an intake the end of the snail goes to intercooler then into the engine.

yah, j9's picture is great! The exhaust gases spin the rear turbine (think fan blade) while the shaft also turns the front blades which take intake air, compress it, and blow it to the engine, usually through an intercooler to reduce the temperature.

that's an awesome pic, thanks for the info everyone
what are the best places to start looking for the dif parts? i'm still debating trying to stay n/a and do a mild bridgeport (or heavier street port) or go the turbo route (hooray instant hp), and im just trying to put together a list of things i'd need for each (exhaust-wise, i mean). oh, and if i went turbo, i'd like to keep my 6-port setup, so i'd need to tap into one of those exhaust pipes to have the backpressure open them up i guess |
i mean, to open the aux ports

j9fd3s you got more pics of that from the front and the top?
nevermind looked on the site. |

i mean, to open the aux ports you can run em off boost pressure too |

you can run em off boost pressure too Oh rly? Very interesting, I never thought about that before (and haven't don't extensive searching about it yet since I'm still trying to decide NA/turbo). Thanks for that info though |
