if thats a j-spec motor, thats for the power brakes

jefraney 12-29-2005 11:33 AM

Yep, brakes.

One320B 12-29-2005 03:15 PM

That's for the brake booster alright...

SpinningFit 12-29-2005 09:41 PM

so do I cap it or what?

RussellTT94 12-29-2005 09:43 PM

unless you have your brake booster pulling vaccum off something else, i'd run the line from the brake booster to it

SpinningFit 12-29-2005 09:46 PM

do I have a brake booster, my car isnt J-spec, but the motor is

RussellTT94 12-29-2005 09:59 PM

i do not know if all FC's had power brakes or not.

does the master cylinder bolt directly into the firewall, or is it mounted in a round, black cannister?

SpinningFit 12-29-2005 10:02 PM

well apparently my brakes are boosted because I traced my plumbing and hooked it up. Now im trying to start it and its not going well lol

that1seven 12-31-2005 07:57 PM

um........engine flooded? check spark? uh....hoook ur brake line to it?

SpinningFit 01-01-2006 12:43 AM

ok, I'll say it needs new spark plugs bad, they are HKS, I would like to find the same kind, but I hear the NGK are the shiznit. The brake line is hooked up to that and now Im checking for vacuum leaks and pulling together any necessary sensors and whatnot to get it actually running. Any one recommend a certain BRAND of oil, I am using Castrol 10w-40

toplessFC3Sman 01-01-2006 01:49 AM

well if that one nipple plug thing you were asking about before isnt plugged, you certainly have a vacuum leak there

that1seven 01-01-2006 09:58 AM

i usally run 20-50 in summer

4RotorRocket 01-01-2006 02:09 PM

Yeah I use Castrol GTX 20W-50 in summer and 10W-40 in winter
