Ok, I will be sending my engine out to a well known shop the rebuilds rotary engines. I am also getting the exhaust openings ported, but I was wondering if I could get any more power out of my '87 NA. I think down the road I will be getting a nitrous system, but what other things are possible for more HP?

Whats your budget and hp goal. Is this a daily driver? Do you care about noise? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Well I am hoping to get around 200 or so at the wheels, yes it would be a daily driver from about May to September every year. Noise wise, it would have to be quiet enough so that I dont get pulled over all the time. Budget wise I am really just looking for options right now.

Well, Obviously freeing up the intake and exhaust is crucial. Getting 200 Hps out of an N/A is not all that easy.

Nitrous is one way, and probably the easiest. Aggressive porting, wight reduction, standalone ECU. All good ways to accomplish your goals.

Good luck!

Weight redux won't get him any closer to his goal. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Mods that I have done are a HKS filter, a modified intake elbow and arm, and a cat back Borla exhaust system. Also I have taken the A/C pump and condenser and all the lines out, only dropping out about 50 lbs. or so.

What would a standalone ECU do, and where could I get one?

Well since noise is a concern you either need nitrous, or a t2 swap.

Getting 200 hp at the wheels like you want is going to be a tall order for an N/A. You have to go above that in the engine to make up for the horsepower loss through the flywheel and drivetrain. What is the percentage loss anyways? Anyone know? Is it very significant?
